Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how PowerScale (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application (“App”).
1. Summary
We collect information needed to run the App (such as account authentication, profile and library data, and social features), to improve reliability and security, and—where applicable—to show ads and process purchases. We use service providers (including Google and Firebase) to host and process data.
2. Information we collect
- Account and profile: email address (depending on sign-in method), display name/username, profile photo, bio, preferences, and settings.
- Library and activity: anime/manga lists, progress, rankings, achievements, XP, and similar app activity you choose to save.
- Social features: friends, discussions, messages, blocks, and notifications you send or receive through the App.
- Device and diagnostics: device type, OS version, app version, identifiers used for notifications and advertising (where permitted), and crash/diagnostic data (for example via Firebase Crashlytics).
- Purchases: subscription status and transactions are processed by Apple; we receive limited purchase-related information needed to unlock features.
- Third-party sign-in: if you use Apple, Google, or similar providers, they share account identifiers according to their policies and your choices.
3. How we use information
We use information to: provide and personalize the App; sync your data across devices; operate social features; send notifications you opt into; measure engagement and improve features; maintain security; troubleshoot crashes; comply with law; and show ads or consent prompts where applicable.
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where GDPR applies, we process data based on: performance of a contract (providing the App); legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement); consent (where required for ads or certain optional features); and legal obligations.
5. Sharing
We share information with service providers who assist us, including:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore/Realtime data, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config, Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics, and related components as configured in the App)
- Google Mobile Ads and User Messaging Platform (ads and consent messaging, where applicable)
- Google Sign-In (if you choose that sign-in method)
- Catalog/metadata providers (for example AniList) when the App requests media information
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
6. Data retention
We retain information as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Some locally cached data may remain on your device until you clear it or uninstall the App.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete much of your data using in-app controls (for example Reset All Data in Settings). You may also control notifications in iOS Settings and in-app preferences. 9. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
10. International transfers
If you use the App outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
11. California privacy rights (summary)
California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including rights to know, delete, and opt out of certain sharing (where applicable). Contact us to submit a request.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date when we do.
